Zar is built from natural goatskin parchment that is not used as a single surface but cut into panels and sewn back together. The 170 × 170 mm square section is made in two heights: a 260 mm table lamp and a 710 mm floor lamp. A 2700K E14 LED filters through the parchment.

Zar began as an attempt to see what parchment would do if it were not used as one whole surface. The goatskin was cut into panels and sewn back together. The seam here is not a hidden joint; it is the load-bearing line of the body and the rhythm of the surface. With the light on, the thickness variations of the parchment and the seam lines read across the surface; with it off, a matt and tactile volume remains. Because the material is natural, the grain and tone of every panel differ — no two Zar are identical. The same square section repeats at two heights, so table and floor speak the same language.
